My name is Juha Ylitalo. I am 40 years old with 10+ years career in IT industry. More information about my professional career and education can be found from LinkedIn.
After this life changing experince, I’ve been doing for day trips in
Madeira (levadas in March, 2003),
Iceland (June, 2004),
Scotland (July, 2005),
Acores (April, 2006)
and number of others.
In November 2003, I pushed things to next level in Inca Trail, Peru (four days hike) and started to do hiking trips. Since then, I’ve been hiking in
Dolomites, Italy (three days hike in via Ferrata routes in August, 2004),
Machame trail to Kilimanjaro (November, 2004, but didn’t reach peaks)
Birgitan Polku (May, 2005)
Ruka-Sallatunturi (six days along UKK trail and Karhunkierros in June, 2005),
Ruka-Sallatunturi (six days along Karhunkierros and UKK trail, June, 2007)
Kevo trail with sidetrip to Guivi (September, 2007) and
Annapurna region in Nepal (March, 2008)
To Halti and back (August, 2008)
This list provides us some kind of agenda for future, because I am planning to go through some of these hiking trails and give you some insight about my experiences on given locations. Hi there Juha. I found your site via the comments on Jim Goldstein’s site. I am an avid hiker and kayaker in Hawaii. Oh.. Also a second generation proud Finn! I love reading your hiking posts and am sure my family will use them as a resource when we hit the trails in Finland. Hopefully sooner than later!
