Green-veined White
Jan 27th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo
While I was digging through my photo archives this week, I noticed that I had photograph about butterfly, which had remained unidentified for some reason and was stored among other photographs about Viaporin Tuoppi 2007 sailing competition. This photograph was taken after most of boats had already passed by my shooting location and headed out to sea. While I was waiting for them to return, I made short walking trip in Suomenlinna (sea fortress in front of Helsinki) and saw this butterfly. At the time, I didn’t have slightest idea about what sort of butterfly it was, but last week I finally went through books and photo stock agencies pages and identified it as Green-veined White. According to Wikipedia its very common in Finland, so I will probably see more of them in future.
