Skylark (Alauda arvensis)
May 23rd, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo
On last Sunday, I was planning to take photographs about Northert Wheatear. Unfortunately they were all out of my 300mm lens reach. However, there was one skylark walking in a field and another one singing in top of fence and I decided to concentrate my interest on those fellows. This is one of the best photographs from that evening.
Skylark that was singing on top of fence looked more like ball of feathers than beatiful bird as it was using its whole body to make his song heard as the sun was getting closer and closer to horizon. Occasionally it would turn a bit and then start singing to a new direction.
