Espoo

This week’s letter in Mrs Nesbitt’s ABC Wednesday is E. After quick thinking, I decided that E is for Espoo, which is 2nd biggest city (in number of residents) in Finland. It is located to southern part of Finland, right next to Helsinki (capital of Finland) and is considered to be part of Helsinki Metropolitan area. One might think that kind of position would make whole Espoo to be urban place. However Espoo reminds more about collection of villages with one National Park (Nuuksio) than international metropol.
Due to this decentralized structure of Espoo, many people consider that having your own car would be necessary evil for anyone, who lives in Espoo (while you can rely to public transportation within Helsinki), which probably explain, why I selected this particular photograph to present Espoo.
