Tales from trails about sights and campsites

Taiji Dao

Sep 4th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo

Chinese Dao/Knife

This week’s topic in photo theme for Thursday is “TOOLS” (Hammer, Saw, Frying Pan, Fork, Spade, Rake, Broom, Duster, Paint Brush, Pencil,…). After I had read the examples, I decided that chinese dao, which translates to knife (or broadsword) is acceptable choice for this theme. Some people use these knives in Kung Fu, but I personally use them in taiji (under Master Tung Kay Ying).

It certainly says “tool” to me. I like the way you simplified the whole “portrait” and concentrated on the sword.
