Hiking in Lapland

Tales from trails about sights and campsites

Pushing through the snow (week 10/08)

Mar 11th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo

Snow-covered Mountain Pine (Pinus mugo)

When we finally got snow into southern Finland, it was pretty obvious candidate for photo of a week. In this photograph, we have snow covered mountain pines, which branches are trying to push through the snow, so that it would reach the light. This scene wouldn’t have worked with one or two pines, but thankfully they have dozens of these in front of Nokia House.

Technical details: Canon EOS 40D & Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX (12mm, 1/40s, f/8, ISO400)
