Unidentied duck (week 13/08)
Apr 1st, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo
On Saturday afternoon walk, I saw this interesting looking duck. It seems to get along find with mallards. By size of it, its in same league with mallard, but the colors don’t match at all. While its head looks like the one in male mallards, rest of colors don’t match at all. White breast and brown color on sides is completely off, when compared to silver gray on male mallards. Does anyone have any ideas on what this bird really is?

It’s April fools day
So I can’t really believe you on this *LOL*

Let me assure you (well I will do it tomorrow again …) that this is not April’s Fool day joke and the photograph tries to be as good match to reality as I can make it.
Ok I believe you, but because it was the 1st of April I had to ask myself if it was a joke
My husband and I have also seen a pretty amazing colored bird it was like a mix between a seagull and a mallard and it was swimming with the other mallards. We searched the Internet and different books on birds but couldn’t find a match.
Have a nice day!
