Fern (week 18/08)
May 6th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo
This week’s photograph about fern is part of last few days experimentation, where I’ve experimented use of off-camera flash. I have mounted camera on tripod and put infrared transmitter (Canon ST-E2) into hand held camera. So far, I’ve let camera’s eTTL functionality to determine necessary flash settings. When local camera shop finally gets dual duty umbrella (options to use it as reflector and shoot-through), I will probably start experimenting on manual power settings in flash to see if things are simpler that way (or reverse).
Technical details: Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro, Speedlight 580EX II, ST-E2 (1/250s, f/11, ISO200)
