Tales from trails about sights and campsites

Whitewater Kayak (week 29/08)

Jul 29th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo

Prijon Combi 359

This week’s photograph was taken in a evening on upper part of Peurakoski in Kuusamo. People in rafting boat are getting ready for whitewater (first class II rapid in this river). On a foreground we have couple of Prijon Combi 359 kayaks, which is popular choice among those, who want to do paddline in whitewater and lakes and need storage space for camping gear. If you are ever going to Kuusamo and don’t have your own gear (or don’t want to transport it), you can rent these from Oulanka Basecamp.

Technical information about Prijon: length 359cm, width 63cm, weight 23kg, volume 335ltr/115kg, volume in back 80ltr, material: plastic
Technical information about photograph: Canon EOS 20D & Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM (29mm, 1/400s, f/11, ISO200)
