Night of Arts 2008 (week 34/08)
Aug 24th, 2008 by Juha Ylitalo
I started Night of Arts by going to movie. Once ‘The Dark Knight’ was over, it was time to head out to see actual events in Night of Arts. During a day, I had decided to check concert in Senate Square. On my way from Tennispalatsi to Senate Square, I saw couple music performances (one in Kamppi and another near Lasipalatsi), but I decided to keep on my original plan.
All normal routes to Helsinki Cathedral, which has great view to Senate Square, were blocked and at the end, I had pretty much walk around the Senate Square and entered from a corner that is closest to Market Square. Once I got into square, things go easier even though I was walking around with backpack (camera, extra lens, …)
Ville already wrote nice review about evenings program in his Lavonardo blog, so I am going skip the part, where I would write down names of artists and songs that they performed.
For couple hours, it was fun to listen to the music and photograph events on stage. At the end, I just got tired of all the people going one way or another and ruining my chances to get any kind of decent photographs. Decision about this week’s photograph was based on a fact that Ismo Alanko and Cantores Minores (choir) were probably the most memorable part of this year’s concert.
